Rust!

Article about: This one came from Inka, and in a poor state indeed. The rust is literally falling from it, it has taken hold badly. It was "rescued" just in time..

Some more pictures after a second wash with the rusty type remover, nice and clean now

When I find it's size, I will put back the old liner band back in with some new pins.

No size markings on the band that can be read..

It has come up well considering, looks quite solid. Is that a Heer decal on the side?

It could be any thing to be honest, the years haven't been king to this lid.

But, hopefully it can be brought back to a displayable piece..

    I believe it's a M40?

Looks to be an M40. Check inside and see if the two air vents have separate bushes. If so M35, if not M40.

I was surprised too, I thought it might be full of little holes, but it seems fine.

Here it is now, and you can see how well it has survived.

Now it's a nice clean relic
