Default Original M38 with asymmetrical holes

    Hello!
Today I want to show you one of my M38 shells. It is an original helmet from Italy with a peculiarity.
Like you can see on the photos the screwholes are asymmetrical. Have someone of you ever seen such an offset?
If so how does it come about? Does someone knows the exact manufacturing steps in detail?

So far best wishes and thank you in advance for your interest.

    Hi, nice shell.
The holes in helmet shells (screw holes/split pin holes and air vent holes/air vents) were stamped on a machine but operated by a human being, which can easily lead to mistakes being made.
I have an M40 shell SE64 los 712 and the air vent holes are on one side 5cm and on the oder 5.5cm away from the split pin, which looks a bit odd in the mirror.
So I can easily see a similar thing happening here.
Or late war EF M42s also often had badly stamped/asymmetrical air vents.

My HKP66 M42 have asymetrical vents too
As Potatodigger said it was made by a human and it can have mistakes
