Please can I have your opinions on this WW medal awarded to a Swedish volunteer?
Medal looks ok to me but I'm not sure if ribbon and bar is a replacement
Many thanks

"In all my years as a soldier, I have never seen men fight so hard." - SS Obergruppenfuhrer Wilhelm Bittrich - Arnhem
Looks ok but not sure if the bar was added later
The medal is fine. I too think that the bar has been added separately.
These variants for Foreigners are much scarcer than the standard WW medal issued to the Finns but this one is a good price so I'm tempted.
I'm looking to collect all the bars, so far I have 7

Nice medal, I'm not familiar with it.
I currently have the following bars...
Laatokan- Karjala
Lappi (Foreigner)
Taipale
Ilmapuolustus (Air Force)
Kenttaarmeija (Army - Standard and Foreigner variants)
Kotijoukot ( Home Front)
Always on the look out for the others
There are 11 battle clasps and 4 Service clasps..Air Force, Coastal Defence, Army and Home Front

It looks like the medal checks out ok, particularly the unique suspension ring
Here is a very educational discussion...

Just added this even scarcer variant...
1939-40 Winter War Medal for Foreigners in Bronze. This was awarded to foreign civilians who supported Finland during the Winter War.
Only 1,961 of these were awarded
