If of pre-41 manufacture or inventory, it would not be a red light.
Why would you think Japan did not import anything from abroad before the war suspended international trade?
Wasn't thinking about imports at all. I only study and focus on swords, which don't normally come with imported parts. So, it didn't occur to me, and was caught off-guard. Also, the small star caught my attention and I was wondering if it could be one of the stamps we see on seppa and other fittings .... anyway, makes sense now. Thanks!
