Warning, Will Robinson, Fake! Fake!
Real officer swords NEVER had a serial number on the habaki. A typical error found on fake swords from China.

JAPANESE MILITARY SWORDS - I
Military Swords of Imperial Japan (GuntM)
Regards,
Stu
I have always been intrigued by Japanese swords from the WW2 era.
That being said. I have bought and sold several.
Since sword authetication isn't one of my strong points, and they seem to be the item I was always overpaying or begin fooled I developed my own system, it isn't perfect but it mine
I only buy if I can see it in person and if possible handle it.
Real versus fake- Real ones, accept for later war are of extremely high quality. I cannot stress that enough. The Japanese are a true blade culture and heritage.
Weight,Balance, grip ect when held side by side even good repros don't square up.
Read and research them, knowledge is power.
It is very common that fakes get through because most Americans at least cant read or understand a lick of Japanese.
just my 2 cents-
Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for asking here before you bought it. Asking question will or has saved you a lot of money. That has saved you enough to become a WRF member.
