Default Flag with "Joint Intelligence" stamp

This framed flag has a "Joint Intelligence" stamp on it. Something that I have not seen in the past. If authentic, I would be interested to know why it was done. Were Hinomaru no Yosegaki inspected for military reasons by the Allies?

The backing of the frame also says "C.R. SEABEE" I know that flags identified as being from Seebees are suspect. Opinions on this flag would be appreciated.

Sorry about the quality of the pictures. They were not taken by me. Hopefully I have the orientation correct.

    Thank you.

I'm way out of my league here, but I have read that all battlefield items were to be initially brought to Intel who would either confiscate them for the needed information, or released if not needed. Obviously, most G.I.s ignored this directive. Looks like this fellow might have actually brought this flag in.

Someone had actually posted some pages from an Army Intelligence book where this was stated.

It's a good flag, not a "Seabee Special". MI probably had a glance to see if there were any unit clues on it -- (which is why you seldom find an authentic hinomaru yoseigaki with unit designations).

Thank yoiu for the feedback Guy. If I may impose, can you make out any of the meaning of the Kanji? I know that the pictures that I posted are not the best. I presume that the characters across the top of the flag are the standard slogan.

Glad to help. I look forward to Nick and Mr. Chu correcting my errors. I'm *not* a translator, nor do I pretend to be one.
