Nice flag.
There are a couple of club members who write
岡商
Okashō
This could be either Okazaki or Okayama. It is, in fact, Okayama since one of the signers elsewhere wrote 岡山 Okayama.
岡商 "Okashō" is an abbreviation for
岡山県立岡山東商業高等学校
Okayama Kenritsu Okayama Higashi Shōgyō Kōtō Gakkō
Okayama Prefectural East Okayama Commercial High School
As I said earlier, there was an 岡商 "Okashō" in Okazaki:
愛知県立岡崎商業高等学校
Aichi Kenritsu Okazaki Shōgyō Kōtō Gakkō
=====
Across the top:
祈武運長久
Inori Bu'un Chōkyu
Prayers for Continued Luck in the Fortunes of War
Right margin:
祝出征岩田幸雄君
Shuku Shussei Iwata Yukio-kun
Congratulations on Going to War, Mr. Iwata, Yukio
贈
川邉村義勇隊
Zō Kawabe-mura Giyū-tai
Gift [from] Kawabe Village Volunteer Corps
Giyū means bravely-loyal; patriotic. A giyū-hei is a volunteer soldier.
國體護持
国体護持 Using new kanji
Defend and maintain National Polity
Okayama greatest Hanagata man
岡山キッテ丿花形男
Dunno .... "Flower Form/Shape" man
立飛若櫻桜隊
Wakazakura-tai [Young Cherry Blossom Squadron]
立飛 Possibly Tachikawa Aircraft Factory abbreviation:
立川飛行場
Oh yeah... to the left of that:
立川義勇隊
Tachikawa Giyū-tai
Tachikawa Volunteer Corps
Stopping at the 5:00 o'clock position:
岡山キツテ丿石田君
陸ノ守は石田さん一人
Okuyama kitte no Ishida-kun
Riku no mamori wa Ishida san hitori.
Okayama's greatest, Mr. Ishida
Only Mr. Ishida is the protector of the Continent
[I think I remember reading that in those days, 陸 riku "Continent" meant Japan]
[I have no idea what Kitsute means ... it is in "italics" -- katakana]
Edit. Found out: キッテノ kitte no
きっての 《切っての》 (suf,adj-pn) (uk) the most ... of all (in team, department, class, etc.); the greatest ... in
I fixed the translation I made.
Picking up again at 8:00 o'clock:
岡商鐵心隊
Okashō Iron Heart Corps
岡商ノ 花形石田君
Okashō’s Hanagata Mr. Ishida
七生報国
Give 7 lives for the Country
On the top left quadrant of the sun:
南無妙法蓮華經
Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō
Devotion to the Mystic Law of the Lotus Sutra
Nichiren Buddhist chant.
Also located at the far 9:00 o'clock position written in very thin strokes.
There are a few more items, but I'm stopping here.
