Japanese date on a Type 90 helmet ?

Is anyone able to read the marking on this helmet ? unfortunately I can not take better pictures because of the « sensitivity » of the leather, don’t want to break it so.

If you can’t take a focused photo, you will need to tell us whether the number is 16 or 18. 16 means 1941 and 18 is 1943.

I can read « 38 » but no « 18 »… what do you think ?

Probably the ink… so it’s 18 as you said
