japanese navy awards research 1935-1941

i would like to know the measurements of the awards from 35-41 i will post this across multiple forums in the hope we can get it done
thank all who are willing to help
i have 2 1935 awards this is how i measured them if anyone can think of a better way we can do it that way as long as all are measured the same


i do not have a 36-38 awards to measure here is the 1939

here is the 1940


1941 awards this is the only one so far that has had all 3 sizes revealed thank Jareth

the sizes for the 1941 awards is as follows
1st class 8 1/2 in 21.59 cm
2nd class 7 3/4 in 19.685 cm
3rd class 7 in 17.78 cm

i do see other awards on ebay and worth point but i am unsure how they measured them so not sure if i should use them.
should i use them?

ok so a 1936 award came up for sale i did not get it but got the measurement mine up top are 35 awards but are the same as the 36 so what i have pictured is a small and large the medium would be 12 cm across. this is the email (This was definitely a medium size 12 centimeters across, same method of measurement that you had used.) so 3rd class 10 cm 2nd class 12 1st class 14. so i think we can say from 35 36 would be the same think 37 would be to but the helmet design is different so do not want to assume without measuring one.

ok so i just got a 1937 award it is 14cm so if it is the same as the 35 and 36 this is the first class. i will wait until I can measure another of the same year.

ok i got a 1940 award it is bigger than the one pictured here is the email response
Hi Keith, The one you just got it larger 27.5 x 13
so now we have the size for two of the 1940 awards

ok i picked up a 1939 award it is 19 cm my other is 22 cm so now we have measurements for two 1939 awards

ok ebay listing for a 1939 award has it as 20.5 cm if this is correct we have the 3 sizes for the 1939 award (3rd class 19cm) (2nd class 20.5cm) (1st class 22cm)
