    An interesting painting, but am I missing something? Is this like the artist's interpretation of the Yamato? Because it looks like the turrets facing the viewer are mounted with twin guns rather than the triple mounts of the Yamato class. Maybe more along the lines of a Nagato class ship?

    Correct, it is one of the older Japanese battleships that is depicted. Also, note the casemates on the upper sides of the hull.
