    Default SOS Japanese Pickups

The SOS was wonderful this year. Seems like there is never enough time to talk and see everything at the show. I did pick some nice pieces for my collection. Pick up a matching numbers NCO sword with side latch. Next was Navy Rayed Japanese Flag with the heavy material large stiches. There is a couple very small moth holes, but a very clean flag. I did also pick up a navy Japanese commodore flag which I will post the pics later.

As your time permits more pics of the side latch Type 95 would be appreciated.

Some more information: Nagoya aluminum handled variation produced by Seki Swords Company for Nagoya Arsenal. The serial number is also somewhat close to the one pictured on page 198 Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945 by Jim Dawson. According to the book only the Seki company made this variation of sword.

Very nice indeed! I miss my sword..I never should have sold it oh well.
Looks like everyone had fun at the show this year! The navy flag is very clean, is the meatball on the reverse ? Or a separate flag? Either way, very minty items
    Thanks for sharing!

    Edit-
The navy flag actually appears to be of multi-construction cotton and the meatball is silk, correct !

I must invest in a sword or ten later on. Have always wanted a ww2 Jap sword.

You bought the flag I was stewing over! Haha

I liked it. Not very many "rising sun" flags at the show this year - it was on my list!...
