That is a metric thermometer used by the Navy made by or donated by the company Jintan. It says flat type on the box lid. Jintan is a company known for its silver pellet-shaped herb pills that work like mint to give you good breath.

I don't think anyone counts -- the dispenser releases a bunch at a time. For me, perhaps 6; any more and the "taste" is a bit too sharp for me.

I used to take them a few times a day -- depending on how badly I felt my breath smelt.
