Type 4 Parachute

Hello everyone,
I just thought I’d share this recent find. I picked up this Type 4 paratroopers parachute. I was extremely happy to find it. It is missing the reserve chute and static line unfortunately, but is in excellent condition. I hope you enjoy the photos

This is the first one of these I’ve ever seen outside of a book. I consider myself very lucky.

No, but if my wife finds out that I bought another piece for my collection, she'll hit me so hard, I'll need it when I fall back to earth.

Surely you mean 'if' you fall back to earth!

Looking at your photos and some missing hardware it appears you do not have a main chute inside - is that the case?

Yes, it came with the main chute, which is in the bag next to the display form. I made one attempt to try to repack the chute and came to the conclusion that I was never getting it back in there. The pack is stuffed with a blanket to fill it out.
