    Hello All,

I am attempting to translate the markings on a section of Japanese aircraft skin, identified in 1944 as having been removed from a Japanese Bomber shot down during the Battle of Leyte Gulf. I am fairly certain the first kanji is "medium," but I am having difficulty with the rest. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you both very much! I guess that would make this from a B5N or a B6N2. If it's the serial number, a B6N2 makes more sense to me, since the 196th airframe would have been only around a year old by the time of Leyte Gulf. Does that seem like a good assumption to you all? Thank you again very much for the fast translation!
