    Default Neat furoshiki!

I like it! It shows drills, inspections, marksmanship, drinking .... the daily life of a -- as Kipling called it -- "sojer".

I need Nick's expertise though ... the one panel showing jukenjutsu has it labeled "Jūsō". I cannot find that term in Al Gore's invention (aka internet). The separate kanji mean "rifle" and "manipulate/maneuver/operate."

    I would have expected
    銃剣術
    Jūkenjutsu

Definitely. Either Meiji or Taisho, I would think. There is an image of a woman walking with an officer wearing a fore-and-aft hat; they look “Victorian.”

just googling different era uniforms in a silhouette form would all look very similar.
