I was offered to buy this ww2 trench knife, I have no idea anything about it (real, value, etc) and am interested depending on price. I assume these are not faked, but would this be Japanese or Chinese used, were these common or one off, or what? Ive seen US and UK trench knifes but never anything like this. Thanks for any knowledge. Ww2 trench knifeWw2 trench knife

I think I see a cut off British No4 (spike) bayonet scabbard in what is most likely a South African bayonet frog. I would be very careful before buying that and not simply assume this is not a fake.

That's why I'm asking here. I'm more concerned with if it's fake or real than value. I also haven't seen any examples with Japanese or Chinese markings so it makes me wonder A) Did they ever use these, even in small numbers, and B) is it a fake or fantasy piece

The markings are *not* Chinese/Japanese characters.

Alright, thank you I assumed as it was advertised as ww2 theater knife. Do you know the markings and should I repost it in a different section? I really didn't know much about it obviously and neither did the person selling it

The markings look like Klingon to me:
    char(75)char(76)char(73)char(70)char(79)char(78)   char(83)char(67)char(82)char(73)char(80)char(84)

Ooohhhh .... I do not think that will render properly!

It is not something I would purchase or add to a collection.
