Hi,
Here are my latest finds : a GIL merit cross, an armshield "Avanguardisti" from Rome e finally some coins.
It's the model for the "Giovani Italiane", young girls from 14 to 17 years old. I really like the "art-déco" side of these medals.
Mussolini holds a review of "Giovani Italiane".
Surprisingly it seems that fire practice was also for girls... It's strange because the fascist ideology was very "macho".
This armshield was for "Avanguardisti" (boys from 14 to 17 y.o) from Rome.
This avanguardisto's armshield (from Turin) is visible on his left sleeve :
And finally some coins, two 20 cents (1940, 1942) and two 1 lira (1939, 1942). The artist is Giuseppe Romagnoli. Searching his name with Google I learned that he had also designed coins for the Italian Republic, after the war.
Roman numerals on coins refer to year in the fascist calendar... "Year 1" was 1922, with Mussolini's takeover.
