Please can anyone identify this all brass belt buckle. John
Hi John, I think it is for the SA. There are a great many variations on these buckles. Forum friend David North is the man to talk to about these
Could we see the back as well please?
Cheers, Ade.
SA..an earlier variation with the static swastika.
That was B****Y quick Ade.I have had this buckle for 55odd years, I pulled it out of a dustbin on my way to school as well as lots of other bits of militaria. As you requested I am posting a picture of the back, also some of my other common buckles. Thanks for your help. John.
Last buckle, p.s. Adie, is there anywhere I could post cloth badges and questions on them, Allied ones. John
Hi John, these are all fine originals. Love the dustbin story!
Please post Allied cloth in the USSR: Western Allies forum subforum.
Cheers, Ade.
Ade, when I was a small boy you could see WWI and WWII helmets hanging from each side of the Council House porches with Geraniums etc. planted in them. All sorts of stuff could be liberated from dustbins, we also used to dig up ammo and grenades from the Yanks dump, fill the grenades up with blackpowder, put a jetex fuze in, light it and fling them over the cliffs, happy days. John.
All nice original buckles, nice finds
Ben
Nice buckles....Yes, that is a harder to find SA variant with the static or horizontal swastika! Looks good!
Rob
Thank you all for your constructive comments, makes me feel wanted, unlike some other sites. John
