S.S. - unusual nickle silver variant with no "ears".
I thought that this most unusual and rare nickle silver SS may be of interest to the forum members bearing in mind the general enthusiasm for all things SS.
It is and in my opinion 100% original, although it is and I must admit, somewhat unconventional by any definition.
Nickle silver and with the obvious omission of the non fold finishing to the ears on the box. I think that the buckle was issued as such and it is certainly not an incorrectly finished example. In addition, we have an early pin shroud and claw arrangement and I wonder if anyone recognises the tooling indentations on the pin shroud or even the design of the eagle ?
As always, any comments are always welcome.
Regards,
David

Wow David, a first for my and what an unusual design, when I get a bit of time I will compare it with other SS buckles and look for detailing, very unusual David and many thanks for showing, should provoke quite a discussion

Good evening
I know this buckle! I´ve seen and touched it in Reichertshofen/Bavaria, there´s a militaria firm two times a year.
Weitze had this buckle and an 57 stamped variant...I bought the 57!
I think it´s a good one, but a buckle is a little bit like a rabbit...no ears, looks stoopid!
