You can find a much nicer buckle for a lot less money if you search around.

If the belt was in good condition I would say yes, have a shop around first

Interesting that the belt has the weaker folded metal "tropical" belt hook on it ( now broken of course ) rather than the heavier earlier style.

Yes you’re right .... and the buckle shows the particular worn wear due to this tropical hook near the catch
