SS Buckle EM 822/38 Review

What are your thoughts on this SS buckle?

* It looks ok to me when comparing to others, but I could be missing something.
* If good, this would be type 3?
* Well worn

I believe it is original type 3 round 3. But wait for the experts. I'm still trying to learn these.

An original buckle...
What happened to the "ears"?
Bent over?
Or were the sleeves and prongs (claws) changed?Contemporary or later, I'm not sure!

The buckle and the post/prongs assembly are original, I don’t know the reason of the straightened ears, possibly some repair job

Original buckle with ears filed off, they did this apparently to make it easier for putting on the belt (dont personally see it made any difference)
