i guess this is a helmet repainted in 1940 as the shadow of the old tricolor and old luftwaffe decal is still seen under the paint. Decall not very well preserved. Hope to get some feedback.

Looks all good to me.
You provided me the evidence : a good helmet has it's price. It's the only German helmet WW2 I payed a good price for...This forum would not reach this level without your input, I guess...
No closet queen there, well used for sure, all original and all good.

The first thing I tell everyone that wants to get into German helmet collecting (or anything German WW2) , there are never discounts. Discounts , low prices are a red flag.
No collector will sell his collection at half price.
