Been offered helmet for £200 obvious replacment liner, worth a punt?
In USD thats around $275.00. Hard to tell for sure but looks likely it has been repainted too
But based on that, it's not one I would want.

I dont like the chinstrap either. Looks like the same style of buckle on most reproductions nowadays
The shell is an original hkp64 M42 from what I can
see.
I bought a similar hkp helmet in relic condition and thought the skirt was messed up underground,but your 2nd photo is interesting.
I think you already have the best advice on whether to purchase or not,but thanks for showing it.
The shell at least is a nice example of how manufacturing quality declined though the war.
