Interesting German EF 66 marked helmet

Article about: Hi guys, I just accuired this nice well worn and heavily patinated helmet and would appreciate your honest opinions on it. The shell is supposed to be a German EF 66 (M40) helmet but with an

    Without a doubt a good German-supplied wartime shell as already said above by RR. It is not too uncommon to find them in this shape with the paintwork damaged and the liner replaced (and with the decal remains sometimes dug out). One has to remember such helmets were indeed used by the FDF well into the Cold War - this one is a great example of just that.

    Here are two rather similar pieces, one that I was able to photograph some years ago with the same 1950s liner system and an M35 EF68 I used to own. I believe the former was recently being offered for sale on a Finnish dealer's site.
