    Keep it as it is. It is a cheap helmet with its own history. Don't ruin it by giving it a false one.

    Well, your price was, atleast for german standarts, very cheap. Only Shells sell for 100+, overpainted Chzech Firepolice helmets sometimes for more.
    And who knows? They might rise in price, as 90% of them are getting stripped and repainted.

    Stop messing with it and leave it alone... you should have avoided the temptation to remove the liner. Not a good thing to do at all.

    You should realise you are amongst passionate custodians of historical items here , taking apart good items is just not done.

    I don't understand what the problem is, I took out the liners and just looked to see if it was marked. I put it back in its place without any damage..

    You never get the liner pins back in exactly as they were. Anyone looking at them will be able to tell that the liner has been removed.
