Italian that someone has added a fake shield to ( note the circular marks ) and the eagle looks pretty crude too.

Yep, nothing good about that one at all
The easiest thing to do rather than list everything that is wrong with it is to compare it to a known original (internet search will give you plenty of images) and the issues will be obvious.
Looks like it is in a shop?
Do not be tempted!

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
Thanks for the replys yes it was in a local antique centre.
I was killing time waiting for a haircut and popped in. í ½í¸„
Hahaha, in the danger zone
That's the trouble with these places. They often pick up bits of militaria in job lots from wherever and whilst they might spot fake georgian silver at a hundred paces they know nothing about this stuff but they are "antique experts" right? So, how hard can it be?
We have a three story one in Salisbury with about 20 dealers and I always have a peep at the various bits of militaria there but it is usually 99% rubbish with the 1% genuine items being so common that you would struggle to give them away
A sand coloured sun helmet with an eagle and swastika just has to be Afrika Korps right?
Thankfully you were smart enough check here
