Something is off with this bird , the head has a wrong angle from the chest.
Maybe the decal was restored or misapplied. Looks odd.
I also find the black lines very light.

Interesting. When I look at individual components they look ok, but when I take a step back and look at the whole decal I see what Frank is saying. It looks odd. Specifically the neck area. It looks to be "swooping" down too much. Maybe just an optical illusion. But I would pass.

There also seems to be a scuff or a shadow or something around the wings of the eagle?

Thanks everyone for the responses. Yes, it has a “shadow” where it appears another decal was previously applied, don’t know how common that is or what it means to authenticity. It looked good to me but German helmets are not my specialty, so I appreciate the expert opinions. Kevin

If there was another decal, it was more off center than the current one, which seems odd…

The decal looks definitly missaplied to me. The head slid down. Maybe a complete factory error?
