Hi,Hope that in this rough time I can present this as a distraction from life and death issues.
Please don't hold back on this old and inexpensive purchase.
    It appears to be a Q66 M40,lot number 5137
I purchased this for $300 Australian.
The liner is dried and shrunken, the paint flakes continuously and the chinstrap is the RB ending in the usual 0204
Thanks for your attention, and looking forward to your comments.
I'm always thrilled to receive feedback from this forum, and as its my 52nd birthday today I wish you and your families the calm loving times I enjoyed today.
    Best Wishes.

Well mate I cant comment on the cammo, but the wire was added for sure.
Also to me the liner looks to be in a far better condition compared to the shell.

    Hi Kateri and Happy Birthday!
A relic shell with paint applied over the top. The liner is not original as Ripper has said. It doesn’t match the shell condition so an obvious replacement and appears to have been treated with something. I wouldn’t even worry about the wire considering the rest of it.

ALWAYS look for wear on the edges of the liner where it folds over the band - no wear = a repro that has been chemically aged, simples......
There is always some checking or rubbing / abrasion / leather damage at this position and you just cant fake the effect once you see the genuine thing.

Then with most things TR, once you find something "off" the rest is suspect......
