    Hey Matt thanks for sharing your buckle, it looks like it was made by Dransfeld by the eagle its hard to tell from the angle of the picture, does the eagle look anything like this one?

    Good I think you will find that the buckle you have was made by Dransfeld, could you post a closer picture of the eagle?

    very sad; the wearer must have had a horrible wound; very difficult to survive

    Ususally that buckles found separately from a body, 2 reasons: the belt was lost on the field and smashed by explosives. If was on the body- you'll never find any bones due of they are in around of 100 meters from explosion hit area...
