Good information. I never noticed that. The prongs and ears are crap too.

This buckle was one of a series of fakes from different organizations. There was 4-5 different ones at the last Grenadier Auction. I told them they were fakes but they didn’t pull them. They pulled other fakes I told them about but something has changed. Someone paid almost $400 for a fake Bahnschutz from this series.

Interesting. Is this a fairly recent series of fakes? $400 bucks when they were told it was fake, not good. I stopped looking at the auction mentioned ages ago. Never saw anything I liked there.

These have probably been around over thirty years. Angolia shows several of them in repo section of his 2001 buckle book.
