Looking at this buckle again, I noticed the top and bottom ears have a different shape to them. Top ear is flatter. At first, thought perhaps the lower ear had been slightly damaged etc. Then I reviewed the HJ Maker thread, and the example there is similar. 2nd photo courtesy of aechols83 (Adam).
