Carfin, these buckles are quite common and original , you sometimes see them with no pin sleeve and just the thin pin, they look quite strange, Markus might post his if he reads this thread, I am sure he has one

I know the stoty of "Malgré nous", my father class 1923 was incorporated in the gebirgsjäger rgt 100 in 1943 & 4X wouded, the last time the 8 april 1945 at the tchekoslovakian-german border & he comes home in october 1945. My uncle; my mothers brother; is MIA in Ukrain in august 1943.
