Rzm ue106-h

Article about: This nice buckle arrived today. Looks like a nickel over brass from Max Hauf, Grossrohrsdorf, or was the maker August Schulze, Berlin? There is an older, interesting HJ thread with this disc

    Hello gents
my personal opinion is that this is Max Haufe for sure.
I have 3 HJ nickel over brass - 1 is unmarked, 1 is marked RZM UE 106 H, and 1 that is marked RZM KH31 H
all are identical in design and traits
    I will post pics
I also have DJ marked RZM UE 106 H and 1 marked RZM KH 31 H
There is so much to discuss here about the markings not corresponding to the correct list numbers and the fact that these are nickel over brass buckles. I believe there was much confusion about markings in the early years as the Rpm was changing marking systems often in the first years. I like th enickle over brass buckles as to my knowledge they were not supposed to be made with brass base metal box. So once again is it that the makers ( I have 3 different maker examples that made nickel over brass for Hj) did not know or did they not care and had some stock they wanted to use up ?
I think we should start a separate thread for nickel over brass HJ buckles
