Hello,
Is this buckle/belt fake?
I`ve seen just 2 similar on the internet.

THese are both repro's, I just received the one on top, it was described as being "painted field blue, just like they would have been done in the field". However, my near 60 year old eyes aren't as good as they once were, it looks black to me... Apologies for the crappy photo quality.

I've seen nearly black buckles online, and also actual blue grey buckles (like the color of the LW M42 stahlhelm). Does it look passable as is or should I paint it Feldblau like the helmets were?

Big berry fakes. These dark blue buckles left the factory this color. I have a that look almost black but outside in natural light you can see they are dark blue. The only field painted buckle are usually some camo color.

Would that dark color be accurate for a late war buckle or would it be a more traditionally flat grey looking version?
