Nice ones, Weller. Perhaps a silly question, but I thought the change of colour on the tab was from brown to black, not the opposite. Just something i read here: Luftwaffe Belt Buckle and Tab. , but was not definetly answered/confirmed.

Hi Stig - I'm not really sure myself on the brown or black leather tabs. I have black and brown Heer and Police tabbed buckles as well, some even by the same maker. Perhaps Ben, Kirby or others here with more experience have an idea.
The tabs probably just come from different leather manufacturers. I have had Heer buckles from the same year with different color tabs. I have also see cowhide and pig skin tab from the same maker same year.
It was just something I was wondering about. Thank you, Kirby.
