Here are the photos of the jacket's sleeves.
Yes the jacket is very large!

Meanwhile I've received interesting hypotheses from Paul Müller ( NVA Tarnuniformen - NVA-Tarnuniformen ) concerning the modifications of this jacket.
    • certainly not modified for a prototype, those are done with new material.
    • modified to simulate enemy commandos for training during the DDR era.
    • modified after 1990 for the outdoors fans, fisherman's jacket for example.
    • modified for the DEFA (Deutsche Film-Aktiengesellschaft) was the state-owned film studio of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) throughout the country's existence. Flächentarn jackets or fabric material were often used to simulate WH & Waffen-SS uniforms for WW2 movies.
    Conclusion:
This jacket is from the Intermediate battle from 1964/1965.
I could easely removed the front pockets & interior collar buttons to give back the jacket it's original look.
    Thanks again to Paul Müller.

    Hello.

Here is an impression from an NVA book from 1969.

A rare piece of equipment is this bonnet in Flächentarn of the NVA's airborne long-distance reconnaissance.

Here members of the border police, predecessors of the GDR border troops, in Flächentarn clothing. You can see that the actual uniform was worn underneath.

    Hello.

I'll take up the image of the airborne long-range reconnaissance aircraft again. Here an early helmet cover from 1962 in Flächentarn (small series or troop trial) is also used as a beret.

Here is such an original helmet cover worn as a beret.

Wonderful colours! I can see parts of those large camouflage loops.
    Makes a pretty cool beret!
    Thanks for sharing.
