Yes the jacket is very large!





Meanwhile I've received interesting hypotheses from Paul Müller ( NVA Tarnuniformen - NVA-Tarnuniformen ) concerning the modifications of this jacket.
• certainly not modified for a prototype, those are done with new material.
• modified to simulate enemy commandos for training during the DDR era.
• modified after 1990 for the outdoors fans, fisherman's jacket for example.
• modified for the DEFA (Deutsche Film-Aktiengesellschaft) was the state-owned film studio of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) throughout the country's existence. Flächentarn jackets or fabric material were often used to simulate WH & Waffen-SS uniforms for WW2 movies.
Conclusion:
This jacket is from the Intermediate battle from 1964/1965.
I could easely removed the front pockets & interior collar buttons to give back the jacket it's original look.

I'll take up the image of the airborne long-range reconnaissance aircraft again. Here an early helmet cover from 1962 in Flächentarn (small series or troop trial) is also used as a beret.

Here is a simply made cap made of tent fabric in Flächentarn. Worn like this by members of special units like KSL18 or Special reconnaissance.

This special equipment was manufactured by mock workshops of the respective units.
