Yes the jacket is very large!
Meanwhile I've received interesting hypotheses from Paul Müller ( NVA Tarnuniformen - NVA-Tarnuniformen ) concerning the modifications of this jacket.
• certainly not modified for a prototype, those are done with new material.
• modified to simulate enemy commandos for training during the DDR era.
• modified after 1990 for the outdoors fans, fisherman's jacket for example.
• modified for the DEFA (Deutsche Film-Aktiengesellschaft) was the state-owned film studio of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) throughout the country's existence. Flächentarn jackets or fabric material were often used to simulate WH & Waffen-SS uniforms for WW2 movies.
Conclusion:
This jacket is from the Intermediate battle from 1964/1965.
I could easely removed the front pockets & interior collar buttons to give back the jacket it's original look.
