Article about: Hi guys been looking for a nice silver wound badge.found this on Espenlaub but it says Austrian?is there any difference from a collectors point of view or should i stick to German made badge

    Hi guys been looking for a nice silver wound badge.found this on Espenlaub but it says Austrian?is there any difference from a collectors point of view or should i stick to German made badges?as you can tell I know nothing really about these and just assumed all we're automatically produced in Germany.thanks for any help guys.

    Looks like an L22 silver badge by Glaser & sohn. Good badge, regards ,Paul

    Many thanks Paul so has it been listed incorrectly then?but I checked a data base which also gave the same answer as you gave but why would Espenlaub make a mistake like that saying it's an Austrian made Badge by the above title.?that's why it's always best to ask here first.thanks again.

    interesting, i delved deeper and it seems depending on who's forum you look at that L 22 is either Glaser & sohn Dresden or Rudolf Souval Wein (Vienna Austria) Anyhoo still a good badge. My gold & silver badges marked 30 (Hauptmanzampt Wein Austria) Regards Paul
    P.S. a lot of TR awards were manufactured in Austria after the Anschluss quality as good as any german made product imo.

    IMO, L/22 is from Glaser & sohn, and this one looks original.

    Please keep this in mind when posting in this section.
