    Hello all!

I recently acquired this piece in a group of medals and other items and I am confused by this badge as the swastika is not visible from the front? I am assuming it is a poorly manufactured reproduction but would like to get sole insight before disregarding it.

Thank you for all your knowledge!

It looks genuine, it has just been de-nazified as per the rules after the war..

The term "denazification" also refers to the removal of the physical symbols of the Nazi regime. For example, in 1957 the West German government re-issued World War II Iron Cross medals, among other decorations, without the swastika in the centre. About 8.5 million Germans, or 10% of the population, had been members of the Nazi Party.
