Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber, Gebruder Wegerhoff, Ludensheid
A recent addition to my PAB collection.
GWL badges are some of the most sought after combat badges by collectors due to the fact that they used high quality feinzink, consisted of a realistic appearance, as well as amazing detail.
They were often exquisitely executed with a plated silver finish topped off with a white silver finish that was burnished to highlight the details.
Different makers often acquired their hardware from contractors, making the fact that different makers often shared similar hardware.
This is not the case with GWL PABs. The hardware found on this example can only be found on hollow GWL combat badges.
Examples by this maker are not often found for sale.
Ralph.
This is what it looked like when purchased.
After a gentle cleaning.
