    IMO it looks like the so called "egghead" IAB. And it looks like a good original to me.

    I agree with Sensei....This ISA is referred to as the Egghead.
    This obverse design can also be found as a zinc hollow variant
    To date, the maker is still unknown.

    Here is a solid bronze example to compare.

    You already have good answers but for what it is worth I agree. Great badge.

    Also, for the benefit of the OP; Fischer knows "rather a lot" when it comes to these and with his opinion given I don't think I would be seeking many more!

    Thanks to all....appreciate the responses....that is actually the first badge I ever purchased, 12 years ago or so.....hanging out on the forums I’ve developed a slight paranoia on some of my old stuff....glad to hear it’s good, I always liked the way it felt in my hand.....thanks again
