Welcome to the forum.
I have edited the title of your thread.
Please read the following thread regarding posting in this section of the forum.
The Use of German Terminology.
Firstly, your uncle would not likely have earned the Infantire Sturmabzeichen, not impossible, but not likely.
Secondly, unfortunately the one he purchased for you is a copy. The hardware is cast as part of the badge, and this is not how the originals from this maker were made.
You can compare with my example posted here.
Infantrie Sturmabzeichen in Bronze, JFS, Josef Feix & Sohne.
Ralph.
Searching for anything relating to, Anton Boos, 934 Stamm. Kp. Pz. Erz. Abt. 7, 3 Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 2, 16th Panzer-Division (My father)

Hi Ralph,
Thanks for that info and the image for comparison. He never claimed to have earned one, it was just a gift he brought back.
I thought I had used the correct terminology though, Infanterie Sturmabzeichen as per the thread you mention? You've changed it to Infantrie which is wrong.
Regards,
Dave

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

I thought so, but sentimental value at this stage so no problem.
