Good morning all,
Here is the newest cross which has been added to my hoard.
A very early example of an Otto Schickle KvK1. Tombac construction with awesomely preserved silver finish.
When you examine the centre of the cross closely, you can tell that it is an early strike due to the known die flaws not being prominent, and in a couple of cases, not developed at all.
This cross also exhibits earlier style hinge, pin and catch, the same which can be found on Otto Schickle 1914 EK1. Very similar to BH Mayer setups but confirmed as not belonging to this company.
These images show the beginning of the flaws and compare with a well worn die strike
Here is the catch from my cross. And then images of my 1914 EK1 which show the identical setup (except for a small piece on the end of the EK1)
