Here is a "lowly" KvK2 with swords made of tombak.

But, this is one which was made by Otto Schickle. They used the same dies for both classes of the War Merit Cross therefore, the same die flaws can be seen around the swastika and elsewhere on the arms.

However, as if that was not rare enough for you, this cross has been subsequently purchased by BH Mayer after Schickle was prohibited from selling awards in 1941. It has thereafter been stamped with Mayers LDO code of L/18 (two times albeit poorly).

Certainly THE one KvK2 which will go with me to the grave

That's a very rare set to obtain, wonderful condition and that combination of maker, purchaser and stamp is awesome. Not something you can refuse to add when the opportunity arises.
