I agree that the ribbon is post war. On an original there should be visible "looping" of the thread at the edges which shows as a fine white edge. You may also find that the post war ribbon is slightly narrower than the war time version.

An illustration of period stitching for the sake of reference. The weaving methods of the time produced a distinctive scalloped edge that's very distinctive, and it doesn't just apply to German awards. This style was used on the medal ribbons of all countries for centuries, making it a reliable way to identify a period ribbon of any kind.
