    Hello my new friends,
I am interested in gathering any and all info you can share with me regarding this CCC. Was it only rewarded to those who encountered hand to hand combat? What was the criteria for being awarded this badge?

    Thank you,
    Thistle

This is an original first pattern Nahkampfspange in Bronze by the firm of Josef Feix & Sohne.
Unfortunately, not in the best condition.
The only example of a first pattern from this maker that I have in my collection is a silver grade, you can compare it here.

If you really want to learn about the criteria for the awarding of these badges, I can suggest you search for the book mentioned in this thread.
    The Nahkampfspange: required reading.

    Original first pattern "JFS" clasp.

Criteria to earn it was 15 days of close combat action.

Thanks for looking Ralphe. It has seen better days, but they can't all be in good condition, especially considering this one was taken as a war trophy after combat. I appreciate your input. Looks like this nazi had his last "Close Combat" experience and lost.

    Just as an FYI:

A Nazi was a member of the National Socialist Party. Not all German soldiers were Nazi. Something to bear in mind!
