    Hello dear forum members,

Looking at your thread about the different makers of the nahkampfspange, I noticed that mine looks to be an Deschler & sohn manifactured one. But it differs from the one on the thread as the hook seems to be upside down (see attached photo`s). Is this original to you guys?

    Many thanks again,

    Leen

IMO, your catch has been re-attached incorrectly.

Thanks for the reply. It does not seem to be, that the hook has been re-attached recently. It has been sold to me by Helmut Weitze about 8 years ago as a silver grade clasp. What is your opionion on this, because bronze grades on wich te bronze color has faded are sometimes sold as silver grade ones.

    Cheers,

It could be a silver grade, not sure why the reverse is so dark though.
Something about the eagle's beak seems off as well.

The back is so dark because I have polished the front very mildly with a silver cloth (I was young and stupid I know). So the silver is a bit more shiny than it was when I bought it.

Is there anybody else that can help me authenticating this piece?

    Many thanks,
