    Here is my gold example, unfortunately it was altered with a new attachment pin, possibly when it became a Honor badge in the 30’s.
    I’ve not seen any other gold examples offered for sale.

    Hi Chris,
    That’s a RPT29 badge with character but I don’t see any gold grade here
    Just a standard RPT29 badge like the one that started this thread

    The finish looks more gold to me, but you could be right.
    I’ll try and get something to compare it to in a photo.

    I have had and handled many of these badges over the years and most likely your badge is bronze. I've only see the gold version as a non portable which are very rare.

    Upon closer inspection, I stand corrected.
    It is a bronze example, thanks for pointing that out.
    It’s still an interesting example in my opinion, wish it could talk.

    I've seen examples of the stamped 1929 RPT badges that appeared to be gold colored due to improper cleaning/polishing. As with some SA Sport/Wehrsport badges, the bronze finish can be inadvertently removed by improper cleaning, leaving an apparently gilt finish.
