The badge is fine, as Saladin says. What you have here is an early RZM marked badge with a Transitional styled font. That may be why it looks off or funny to you. It’s an RZM-era badge with a great looking font unlike the final RZM pattern that looks uniform across all makers.

The needle has been replaced and partially covers the marking, but it is still visible
The second badge I want to show you is from Ferdinand Hoffstätter
It's a shame he lost his needle and enamel has seen better days, but I love pre-RZM badges
